‘Design Mom’ Gabrielle Blair Pivots to Politics
Gabrielle Blair will be the first to tell you that she’s a self-described “Design Mom.”
When it comes to fashion, we’re all Design Moms, but the “Mommy blogger” is a little different.
She posts photo essays on her blog, “Life is a Series of Pictures,” and as a parent, she knows her life better than most, too.
She told The News-Herald that she’s been a self-described designer for most of her life, but that this isn’t always the case.
“I was born in 1978, so I’ll be 33 in October! I’m a stay-at-home mom,” she said.
Blair is married, with two grown children, and has a daughter and a son on the way. When asked how her family defines herself and her style, she quickly stated, “My family are all designers, a designer of a fashion house with their own line.”
Her blog, which is now in its second year, became a bit of an obsession for Blair some years ago. She writes about family, friends, food, fashion and her own adventures. It’s a combination of what she’s always wanted and a little bit of the life she’s always wanted.
As a fashion designer and mother of three children, Blair is constantly searching for her next project, or next “must try” dish, or what ever it might be.
While she would love the fashion world as a whole, she sees her current passion, parenting, as her “passion.”
“I just don’t think I could do anything else,” she said. “I love it so much. I love it that I would have the opportunity to be in the fashion industry. I love being a mom. I think we’re the best at what we do.”
If there’s one thing Blair is an expert on, it’s the art
