Kanye West Is Running Out of Platforms for His Debut Novel, He’s Starting to Run Out of Words

When Kanye announced his new signing to William Morris Endeavor last night, he was greeted by a standing ovation at his concert in New York City.
Kanye West is known for his blunt and brash attitude, and yet he’s so much more than your ordinary rapper. His new album, The Life of Pablo, will be released on November 29th after a record number of delays due to legal wranglings.
Since the album’s debut, Kanye’s had to defend his new music in court multiple times, which he now decided to do before its release. He’s made a whole new album out of songs that didn’t make the final cut of his new album so many times before. All of which has led to him running out of avenues for promotion — as well as options for further releases. In fact, he’s even running out of words.
When I asked him about this for my new book, My Life, My Music, I asked him about this for a whole bunch of his albums, his fashion line, his fragrance line, and his brand, and he just flat out said, “A couple more albums, I’ll probably still be wearing, um, my clothes on my back.”
He told me he loves writing, he loves publishing, he loves having a public platform for his music, and even the world. He said, “I’m not writing for the public anymore. It’s like, I’m writing for a couple people, and that’s it. I just have my personal fans that are getting a lot of exposure out there.”
