    Description

    The Costa Rica 2,000 Colones Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Costa Rica in 2015. The obverse of the blue banknote features Mauro Fernandez Acuna and the Colegio Superior de Senoritas building in the background. It also shows a map of Costa Rica in Optically Variable Ink and open books. The reverse depicts a coral reef, a starfish, a bull shark, turtles, and corals. The banknote contains a windowed security thread with demetallized BCCR 2000 and a watermark that reveals Mauro Fernandez Acuna and an electrotype 2000. It is 132 x 67 mm in size and is signed by Eduardo Prado Zuniga and Olivier Castro Perez. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
