    Description

    The Costa Rica 20,000 Colones Banknote was issued by the Banco Central de Costa Rica in 2018, printed on polymer. The note is predominantly orange. Its obverse features the outline of Costa Rica and a portrait of Maria Isabel Carvajal who was also known as Carmen Lyra. It also displays a rabbit and a coyote from Lyra’s Cuentos De Mi Tia Panchita (Tales of My Aunt Panchita). The reverse features a Chispita hummingbird, rabbits, a papelillo flower, and a papelillo plant with a mountainous landscape in the background. The note contains a clear window watermark with the coat of arms of Costa Rica, and a portrait of Maria Isabel Carvajal and hummingbirds. The note is 153 x 67 mm in size and is signed by Rodrigo Cubero Brealey and Eduardo Prado Zuniga. This polymer note is in uncirculated condition.
