  • Condition: This vintage Chinese cheongsam blue silk rayon brocade pagoda temple qipao dress dates from the 1950s. It is made of a jewel tone iridescent blue silk rayon damask weave brocade fabric with woven picturesque scenic design of pagoda temple shrines, bridges, water, green pine tress and gold metallic highlights. This traditional Chinese cheongsam dress has a form fitting hourglass short above the knee length style with high side slit vents, a mandarin collar, short cap sleeves, black braided cord trim edging with pankou knotted toggle closures going all the way down one side and is fully lined in a white nylon fabric with a Size M tag sewn inside. Manchu women early on wore a loose fitting one-piece dress which were called "qipao", transforming later to the more form fitting style "Mandarin Gown" popular in Shanghai during the 1920s-1940s becoming more influenced by Western fashion, fabrics and popular with tourists visiting as a souvenir.     This vintage Chinese cheongsam blue silk rayon brocade pagoda temple qipao dress dates from the 1950s. It is made of a jewel tone iridescent blue silk rayon damask weave brocade fabric with woven picturesque scenic design of pagoda temple shrines, bridges, water, green pine tress and gold metallic highlights. This traditional Chinese cheongsam dress has a form fitting hourglass short above the knee length style with high side slit vents, a mandarin collar, short cap sleeves, black braided cord trim edging with pankou knotted toggle closures going all the way down one side and is fully lined in a white nylon fabric with a Size M tag sewn inside.
